The merino blend is noticeably softer than the synthetic base layers I've worn for years, no itch at all against my skin. I've washed it a handful of times now and it hasn't pilled or stretched out. Just a really well-made layer.

Wore this for a chilly morning hike and didn't want to take it off afterward—the Biella merino is genuinely next-level soft, not itchy in the slightest. I’ve already washed it three times and the fabric hasn’t pilled or lost its shape, which says a lot for a base layer this thin.

The fabric is hands down the softest base layer I've owned, and the short sleeves make it perfect for layering under a flannel on cool days. Wore it on a long hike and forgot I had it on, which is exactly what you want. It held its shape after a wash, too.
